Let’s face it – that image we have of therapy, the poker-faced glare of a bespectacled professional analyzing, judging your every word and telling you how to live, think, and feel, as you divulge your most sensitive and vulnerable parts – is outdated and ineffective. I wouldn’t want to be in therapy if it were like that either.
With me, it isn’t. If we don’t have a good, warm, and dare I say fun working relationship, we don’t have good therapy. Although I am a professional with a string of letters and certifications after my name, I am first and foremost a human being (but I do wear glasses). You and I will work together to understand your life difficulties and find clarity and solutions. The first step in this process is establishing trust, so you can feel safe to open up and talk about what is weighing on your mind.
So, let me start by sharing something about me. I am not like other therapists – heck, I’m not like most people! I am somewhat quirky, silly, humorous, and blunt at times. Growing up thinking differently has keyed me into aspects of the human experience unseen by those who easily fit in. I have become a very good study of human behavior and have exceptional pattern recognition skills. My clients have often been amazed at the quick clarity I bring to their problems – so much so that I’ve been lovingly accused of being psychic! While I cannot claim supernatural powers, I can tell you that my unique differences allow me to see what others miss.
If you are visiting this website because you are Autistic or you have an Autistic loved one, you have come to the right place! One of the most difficult aspects of being Autistic can be managing social situations and personal relationships. I have many years of experience helping others through the pain of isolation, being misunderstood, and being judged by others. I know how damaging it can be to live in a world where you feel like you don't fit in. But there are ways to survive and thrive, and I would like to help you do exactly that.
I am licensed in California, Colorado, and Idaho.
